Two men held up staff at a post office on the Cregagh Road near the Titania Street junction on Tuesday morning.

A male and a female employee were threatened but uninjured. The robbers, wearing balaclavas, made their escape with cash.

One of them was 5'4, stocky or plump, wore a navy tracksuit top and white trainers. The second is described as 5'7, muscular build and wore a navy boiler suit with white trainers.

Anyone with information can contact police on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Belfast Alliance Councillor Máire Hendron said: “Those who carried out this robbery have displayed utter contempt for public safety and for the staff working at the time.”
