Robbery: Man arrested

Police in Bangor have arrested a 37-year-old man following an attempted armed robbery at Bloomfield Retail Park.

At approximately 9.30pm on Monday, July 26, a masked man, with a firearm in his possession, entered the Xtra Vision store, went behind the counter and demanded money.

The man was pointing the firearm at a member of staff when a customer entered the store, jumped over the counter, disarmed and restrained him.

Police attended and a man was arrested at the scene.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
