Robbery suspect 'ran into moving vehicle'
A man believed to have assaulted and robbed another man ran into the side of a moving vehicle before he was arrested in north Belfast, police have said.
At 11.20am on Tuesday, it was reported that a man had run across the Crumlin Road and collided with a vehicle. He was not injured.
"When police attended to assist the man, he ran off from the scene but was later detained by officers," a PSNI spokesman said.
"Following further investigations, it is believed the man had been involved in an earlier robbery in the Agnes Street area.
"It was reported the man assaulted another male before making off with a sum of money and a mobile phone. The victim was not believed to have been seriously injured during the incident.
"The man was arrested on suspicion of robbery, criminal damage and other related offences. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
He added: "Enquiries are continuing and we would like to speak with the victim of the robbery who may be able to assist with enquiries. It is believed he was wearing red football shirt."
He said police believe a number of people were in the area at the time, and urged them to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 665 25/06/19.
