A Co Tyrone man has been arrested in England as part of the investigation into the 2011 murder of Constable Ronan Kerr and linked incidents, the police have said.
The 22-year-old, from Omagh, was arrested in Milton Keynes yesterday evening by officers from the North West Counter Terrorism Unit at the request of detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime Branch.
The suspect is currently being questioned by detectives at a police station in England.
Catholic new recruit Constable Kerr (25) was killed in an under-car booby-trap planted by dissident republicans at his home in Omagh, Co Tyrone, in April last year.
Police searches were also carried out yesterday in Omagh and Cumbria.
A number of items were seized by officers during the joint police operation,
Among the items taken away for forensic examination was a lorry, which was stopped in Milton Keynes.
