Rory McIlroy settles dispute over Oakley sponsorship
Rory McIlroy has settled a legal dispute with his former sportswear sponsor Oakley.
The Co Down double major winner split with the firm and signed a £150m deal with Nike in January to use its full range of golf clubs, balls, clothing and accessories.
At the time Oakley claimed that it should have been allowed to contest the offer from Nike, which has made him one of the world's highest paid sports stars.
But the legal claims brought by Oakley against McIlroy in California have now been settled amicably and to the satisfaction of both parties.
McIlroy, who earlier this month said that he had seen enough lawyers to last him a lifetime, expressed satisfaction that the case against him is resolved.
