Rory McIlroy silent over Olympics Games allegiance
Two years ago he said he would definitely be part of Team Great Britain and Northern Ireland at future Olympics Games.
But now it seems US Open winner Rory McIlroy is undecided about his allegiance.
The 22-year-old golf champion from Holywood, Co Down, has said he will not declare which team, GB or Ireland, he will represent if he qualifies for golf's return to the Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 - until he has to.
"I still don't know," he said last night. "If I am going to be honest, which I usually am, whatever I say is going to upset someone."
If McIlroy is in the world's top 15 at the cut-off point he would be guaranteed a place in the 60-strong field.
