Running for charity

Fundraisers doing the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Belfast this month will find themselves rubbing shoulders with a host of famous faces.

Television and radio presenter Stephen Nolan and Irish Heavyweight Boxing Champion Joe Egan are just some of the celebrities getting ready to rise to the challenge at the Belfast Mile on Sunday, March 21.

Former Miss Belfast Gemma Garett, has also pledged her support and will be doing a Mile on the day.

The run starts off at Albert Clock, with the route taking Milers through the City Centre , running down High Street, past City Hall and onto Donegal Square North, before crossing the finish line in Custom House Square.

Coverage from the Mile events will be shown during The Sport Relief Mile Show on the same day on BBC One, with those participating as the stars of the show.

To add a twist to the Belfast Mile, Hula Hoops is encouraging the nation to help set a new world record for the most people hula hooping simultaneously across the UK. Places are limited so go to hulahoops.com to sign up.
