The family of Belfast man Ryan Smyth have paid tribute to him after his body was recovered yesterday.

Mr Smyth (28) went missing on Monday. His body was found by police and the Community Rescue Service during searches in north Belfast.

Writing on social media, Ryan's mum Debbie said that she would love him for ever.

"Rest in peace my sweet angel, we love you for ever and ever, my gentle, compassionate, loving son," she wrote.

Ryan's twin sister Jordan said that she had lost her "other half".

She wrote: "I loved him and he loved me and we will be together for ever whether it's on earth or in heaven, my twin brother Ryan Smyth.

"I am unbelievably proud of you. Thank you for being my best friend and always, no matter what, being there for me.

"I know you're at peace now. I love you with all my heart and soul and I always will."

A post-mortem examination will be carried out. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
