Say goodbye sunshine: Northern Ireland rain warning on horizon

Enjoy it while it lasts folks because come Saturday you could be bathing in heavy rain instead of the glorious sunshine we've been enjoying of late.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain across Northern Ireland for Friday and Saturday.

Many places will escape the rain on Friday evening with showers confined mostly to parts of Fermanagh, although they will be heavy and thundery.

Forecasters are warning of the potential of localised flooding.

Meanwhile, on Saturday the barbecue plans will have to be shelved.

Meteorologists are predicting heavy, thundery showers on Saturday afternoon and evening with the potential to bring localised flooding, hail and frequent lightning.

The Met Office warning is in place from 1pm on Saturday until 11pm.

Sunday will be fresher, though mostly dry and sunny. Heavy overnight showers in the south will continue into Monday. Tuesday will probably be mainly dry, except in the far northwest.
