Disgraced former MP Iris Robinson has gone public for the first time in 15 months at the state dinner in honour of the Queen.
The wife of Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson had been in hiding since scandal broke over her affair with a teenage toyboy.
Mrs Robinson, 62, looked radiant dressed in a tight-fitting, ankle length green dress and sparkling earrings.
Although the former politician was invited with her husband Mr Robinson she was seated beside British Ambassador Julian King on her left and Ireland's Chief Justice John L Murray to her right.
Mrs Robinson was by her husband's side when they arrived at Dublin Castle more than an hour before the Queen got to her feet for her only public address of the historic four day visit.
She entered the banquet hall to greet the Queen and curtseyed before shaking the monarch's hand and the Duke of Edinburgh's.
Mrs Robinson was also greeted by President Mary McAleese and her husband Martin and shook hands with them both.
Her political career alongside her husband in Westminster collapsed a year and a half ago in a dramatic sex scandal after her affair with then 19-year-old butcher's son Kirk McCambley was made public.
Further damaging allegations emerged. She was embroiled in claims she had obtained £50,000 from two property developers and paid it to her toyboy lover to help him launch a cafe.
Within a few weeks of the affair breaking, Mr Robinson held back tears as he spoke of the close bond he shared with his wife and the depression she suffered as a result of the affair.
