Scheme ‘ahead of schedule’

A social housing development scheme in Comber could be finished early, it has been claimed.

DUP Michelle McIlveen MLA said she had received confirmation from Fold Housing Association that the Dunsy Way scheme was on schedule to be completed by May 2010, but could be finished sooner.

“All of us are well aware of the shortage of social housing in the area,” she said.

“I have large numbers of constituents urgently seeking housing in and around the Comber and Ballygowan area and it is important that this need is addressed.”

A spokeswoman for Fold would only confirm to the Community Telegraph that the development was “on schedule”.

The Dunsy Way site holds 33 units which includes six one bedroom apartments and 27 two and three bedroom houses.
