Security alert on Bangor rail line causes major disruption
Police said nothing untoward was found in a security alert that caused havoc yesterday morning.
There was continued disruption for passengers as police conducted a search of the railway line between Bangor West and Bangor.
A team of officers was seen examining the tracks for a suspect device.
Translink issued an alert for passengers saying that trains running through the stations were suspended and commuters were to expect disruption throughout the morning.
Bus substitutions were put on to help passengers continue on their journey.
In a statement the PSNI said: "The security alert on the railway line between Bangor West and Bangor has now ended.
"Police conducted a search of the line and nothing untoward was found."
