'Serious' assault in the Belvoir estate

Police in Castlereagh are appealing for information after a serious assault in the Belvoir Estate over the weekend.





“A 23-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Breda House in the Belvoir estate at approximately 2am on Saturday, January 26,” said a police spokeswoman.

“The male had entered the ground floor of the flats at Breda House. At the entrance, he noticed a group of youths drinking and playing music on the ground floor and alleges he was set on by a number of these youths.

“He was kicked and punched to the body and head and sustained substantial injuries. Upon police arrival, the victim was then taken to hospital.

“The victim has supplied police with descriptions of two of the males who were involved in the assault. The first male is described as being 17 to 18-years-old, 5ft 10in in height, of slim build with short black hair and was wearing a blue-check fleece knee-length dressing gown.

“The second male is described as being 17 to 18-years-old, of medium build and with short fair hair. He was wearing a black-zipped bomber jacket and dark Adidas tracksuit bottoms, with white stripes on the legs.”
