Severe weather warning issued for rain across Northern Ireland

The Met Office is warning the Northern Ireland public to be prepared for a bout of potentially heavy rain.

A "yellow" warning has been issued with rain expected in most parts of the province, except for Co Down.

Downpours could lead to flooding.

The warning, meaning to be aware and plan ahead, comes into force at 6pm on Monday and lasts until 10am on Tuesday.

"The public should be aware that there is the potential for some localised flooding," the Met Office said.
