A taxi driver had what was described as a "sharp object" held to his throat in a Belfast robbery.

He was flagged down on the Antrim Road, close to the Old Cavehill Road at around 10.30pm on Friday.

Both men then got into the taxi.  One of the men placed a sharp metal object to the taxi driver's neck and demanded money before the pair fled the scene on foot with cash.

The taxi driver was not injured however he was left badly shocked by his ordeal.

Police appealed to anyone with information to contact investigators on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
