Shotgun murder accused has bail request rejected
A man accused of a shotgun murder in south Belfast must stay in custody, a judge has ruled.
Michael Smith was refused bail amid claims he has been identified as one of those involved in the killing of Stephen Carson on February 25.
Mr Carson (28) was shot in the head after armed men broke into a house at Walmer Street as he ate dinner with his partner and nine-year-old son. He hid in a bathroom, but the attackers blasted him through the door.
Smith (37), of Ardmonagh Gardens in Belfast, is one of two men charged with his murder.
District Judge Ken Nixon denied bail because of the risk of further offending.
