Sinn Fein MP to meet BBC officials over Loughinisland film
Sinn Fein MP Chris Hazzard is set to meet with BBC officials over coverage of Loughinisland massacre documentary No Stone Unturned.
The film - directed by Oscar winner Alex Gibney - makes claims that the wife of a chief suspect named him as one of the killers in a letter to a nationalist councillor.
It also claims the chief suspect was a serving soldier with ties to a number of loyalist murders.
Mr Hazzard has said he will meet with the broadcaster over its coverage of the film.
"People are genuinely dumbfounded that BBC News has not covered this story when other media outlets have focused on the documentary and its revelations.
“As the MP for South Down I will meet with the BBC and challenge this editorial approach.
“It is beyond belief that there should be such a glaring omission."
Responding to comment from Mr Hazzard, a BBC spokesperson told the Irish News: "The tragedy of Loughinisland is a story BBC NI remains committed to covering and we will continue to make our own editorial judgments as to when we report any developments."
