Sinn Fein's Michelle O'Neill makes Dublin meeting with help of colleagues

Sinn Fein deputy leader Michelle O'Neill has not allowed a broken leg to stop her carrying out her party duties.

The Mid Ulster MLA posted on Twitter to say she'd been getting around Dublin in a wheelchair on Wednesday with the help of party colleague Conor Murphy.

Mrs O'Neill was in the Irish capital for a meeting with Tanaiste Simon Coveney.

She broke her leg in an accident last month and has been using crutches following surgery.

Speaking after her meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister Coveney Mrs O'Neill said it was disgraceful an Executive was still not in place in Northern Ireland.

"The reason we have not had it is because of the British Government and their toxic relationship with the DUP," the Sinn Fein deputy said.

She said the British Government had prioritised the survival of the minority Government and its arrangement with the DUP.

"We have been fairly firm in the belief that all along their plan was to do nothing and now I am even more concerned because I believe their plan is to prevent the restoration of the Executive."
