Sir Jackie Stewart races in for charity gala event
Sir Jackie Stewart has been unveiled as the guest of honour at children's charity Action Medical Research's Celebration of Motorsport dinner later this year.
The racing legend will be at the event when it returns to its original home at the Culloden Hotel in Holywood on Friday, December 4.
Sir Jackie took the Formula One World Drivers' Championship crown three times and achieved a total of 27 victories out of 99 races.
During the past 21 years, the Celebration of Motorsport evening, which is organised by the SPARKS NI Motorsport Committee and supported by Tourism Ireland, has raised almost £500,000 for vital medical research to help sick and disabled babies and children.
It is currently supporting work around meningitis, Down syndrome, epilepsy and premature birth, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.
