He spent 17 years travelling across the country for television's Flog It, and now presenter Paul Martin is heading to Belfast to officially open Belfast Telegraph Holiday World.

Paul will cut the ribbon at the 27th edition of Northern Ireland's favourite annual celebration of travel and tourism on Friday, January 18. 0The event is set to welcome hundreds of exhibitors from close to home and around the world, all set to inspire and excite tens of thousands of winter-weary visitors with everything that is hot in the world of travel.

The three-day show at Titanic Exhibition Centre will play host to international tourist boards, destinations, airlines and ferry companies, hotels and B&Bs, visitor attractions and a v ast range of service providers.

Amongst the big new names checking in for a first visit to Belfast will be China's National Tourist Office, the Great Lakes region of the USA, the Madeira Promotion Bureau and the Turks & Caicos Tourist Board.

They will join the diverse cast of travel professionals at the three-in-one show where, in addition to the colourful attractions of the main exhibition, there will also be a 50+ Village, reflecting the continuing growth and buying power of that age group, and the ever-popular Caravan & Motorhome Show.

Special features will include the dedicated Oasis Travel Cruise and the Honeymoon & Weddings Destinations Pavilion hosted by Clubworld Travel.

This year there will also be a focus on buying property abroad.

Show director Maureen Ledwith said of the event: "Holiday World offers a fantastic opportunity for people to do their cost comparisons in a lively, fun-filled environment that's perfectly designed to put them in holiday mood."

Holiday World will be staged at Titanic Exhibition Centre, on Queen's Road in Titanic Quarter, close to Titanic Belfast. The show will be open from 1pm to 6pm on Friday, January 18 and from 11am to 5.30pm on Saturday, January 19 and Sunday January 20.

Tickets cost £5 for adults, £4 for senior citizens and £3 for students.  A special family ticket gives admission for two adults and up to four children for £10.
