Son denies stabbing his parents in Carnvale area of Ballymena
A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his father and attempting to murder his mother.
Gregory Lamont (27), who is currently residing at Knockbracken Healthcare Park on Belfast's Saintfield Road, denies killing his 64-year-old father John and attempting to murder his mother Elizabeth Lamont (60).
Gregory had been staying with his parents at the time. The couple were stabbed in a house in the Carnvale area of Ballymena on January 15, last year.
Appearing at Antrim Crown Court (sitting in Belfast) yesterday, Lamont pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Prosecutor Paul Ramsey said the Crown are awaiting medical reports on behalf of the accused, which are expected at the end of this month.
Mr Judge Weir listed the case for further review on February 21 and Lamont was returned to Knockbracken.
