South Armagh political activist killed in a road crash
Sinn Fein has expressed its sadness after one of its members died following a road crash in South Armagh.
Timothy Woods (52) died following the single vehicle crash which took place on the Castleblayney Road near Keady, Co Armagh at 3.30pm on Saturday.
He had been out and about in the area helping Sinn Fein canvass voters for the snap Assembly election shortly before the tragic crash.
Police have appealed for information about the incident.
Newry and Armagh Sinn Féin election candidate Cathal Boylan has extended his condolences to Mr Woods' family on behalf of his party.
“I am shocked and deeply saddened at the news that a Sinn Féin party activist Tim Woods was killed in a car crash," he said.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Tim’s family as they come to terms with the news of his tragic death and I extend my condolences to them on behalf of myself and the party locally.
“Tim was a valued friend and party activist. He was a man of great wit and charm and will be sadly missed by all who knew him and it’s still hard to take in that he has been so tragically taken from us.”
