Floodlit bus tour

Some of south Belfast's principal buildings will be included in the Belfast Civic Trust's floodlit bus tour on Friday, September 13.

The tour gives an opportunity to see floodlit Victorian and Edwardian Belfast together with modern Belfast.

The tour also includes the Custom House, Belfast City Hall, Queens University, St. Annes Cathedral, St. Peter's Cathedral and the RISE sculpture.

Windsor Women's Training Programmes

Windsor Women's Centre at 136-144 Lower Broadway have launched their Education & Training Programme which starts in September.

A photography course, sage payroll, yoga, swimming, pottery and much more will be on offer. The full list, dates and times are available from the Women's Centre.

Enrolments will take place on Tuesday, August 27, and Wednesday, August 28, between 10.30am and 3pm.

Participants must be unemployed or working under 16 hours per week to qualify for the courses. A member of the Education and Training team will be available before enrolments for advice on courses. Please call 90 235451 to make an appointment.

Teddy time at the library

LISBURN Road Library holds 'Teddy Time' evening storytelling for children aged 4-8 years old on the first Monday of every month.

Admission is free and a biscuit and juice are provided, all you need to bring is your teddy bear.

Senior citizens' bus trip

DONEGALL Road area senior citizens are invited to join the Senior Moments mini bus shopping trips to Asda on Friday mornings.

Buses leave 2 Maldon Street at 11am on 23 and return at 1pm. There is a small cover charge of £2.

Free zoo bus trip

THE Live and Learn Open Doors Project is running a free community bus trip to Belfast Zoo this Sunday, August 25.

The trip is open to anyone living in the Annadale, Benmore or Taughmonagh areas of Belfast.

The trip includes free entry to the zoo. It will pick participants up at 10am and will return at approximately 4pm. To book a place on the trip and establish a pick-up point, call Karina at Live and Learn open Doors on: 90 604220.

THE Annual Richview Summer Fellowship Meetings in Richview War Memorial Hall, Pembroke Street, Donegall Avenue conclude on August 26 at 8pm.


Come and play

BELFAST City Council's weekly outdoor play sessions are coming to Taughmonagh Playground on Wednesday, September 4 from 2.30-4.30pm.

Catering for children aged 5-11, professional play staff will provide games, messy play and crafts.

International meet up

EVERYONE is welcome at International Meeting Point (IMP) at 133 Lisburn Road (beside former Ulsterville Presbyterian Church).

It is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11am- 3pmand Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm. There are free English classes and internet cafe – a great opportunity to meet people and have a chat.


Photographic exhibition

BELFAST Photo Imaging Club (BPIC) is holding a photographic exhibition in the Tower Gallery, Belfast City Hospital.

Go along and view 24 wonderful photographs dealing with a wide range of subjects including the Titanic Daffodil.

BPIC is one of the top camera clubs in Northern Ireland and one of the friendliest. The club meet in the Morton Community Centre, Lorne Street (just off the Lisburn Road) Thursday nights between 7.30pm and 10pm.

The Department of Agriculture is offering a seminar on Digital Marketing & Social Media for Equine Businesses at Lagan Valley Island in Lisburn on Monday 2 September starting at 7pm.

Liam Killen from Abbey View Equine and founder of the Equine Social Media, will show you how to promote yourself or your equine businesses through social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

Emma Ferguson from global brand Horseware, will also talk about how they have used digital marketing to reach out to customers. Other topics include Online advertising, Google Business pages and sending out e-zines.
