Spall and Jennifer Saunders film at Crom Castle
Historic Crom Castle in Fermanagh is to play host to a new comedy series starring Timothy Spall and Jennifer Saunders.
The historic castle, set on the picturesque shores of Lough Erne, is to be the home of PG Wodehouse’s Blandings, based on his fictional stories on Blandings Castle.
Filming for the series, set in 1929, began this week and is expected to last for six weeks, with manager of Crom Castle Noel Johnston stating it was an “honour” the estate had been chosen as the setting for the high-profile venture.
Describing it as a “huge boost” for Fermanagh, Mr Johnston said: “The whole county is buzzing and loads of people have been cast as extras” and that even the residing Lord and Lady Erne were “more than happy”.
