St Patrick's Day: Heavy police presence in Belfast as crowds gather

Tensions are high in Belfast city centre as police maintain a heavy presence where large crowds of youths have gathered following St Patrick's Day celebrations.

Police dispersed a large crowd of young people from city hall as loyalist flag protesters held a demonstration.

Around six PSNI Land Rovers lined the middle of the road to separate the protesters and the young people - many of whom were draped in Tricolour flags.

At present large crowds remain at Donegall Place.
