Stars to face off against one another in TV award race

By Sherna Noah

Northern Ireland's small screen stars will be competing against each other at this year's National Television Awards.

Among the nominations announced yesterday were Co Down actor Jamie Dornan and former X Files star Gillian Anderson.

The duo - who play a serial killer stalking the streets of Belfast and the detective on his tail respectively - were given the nod for the hit show.

They will be up against the cast of ITV's Cold Feet, which stars Co Antrim actor James Nesbitt.

And Cold Feet - which returned to our television screens in September after 13 years away - will also be taking on another Northern Irish hit in the drama category - HBO fantasy drama Game Of Thrones.

The shortlist is announced in January, while the awards, hosted by Dermot O'Leary, take place later that month on January 25.
