The board of governors of a leading grammar school attempted to keep secret parts of a devastating report into their school’s mishandling of one of Northern Ireland’s most notorious paedophile teachers, declassified government files reveal.

In 1998, Bangor Grammar School vice principal Dr Lindsay Brown was convicted on nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of gross indecency against pupils in the school.
