Stone Roses pay tribute to Best
The Stone Roses have played a tribute to football legend George Best in his home city.
Ian Brown belted out This Is The One for "Georgie the Belfast Boy" to an audience of thousands who chanted United in response.
The Manchester alternative rockers headlined the second night of the Tennent's Vital open air music festival.
They were one of the pioneering groups of the Madchester movement and they delighted fans with a lengthy rendition of Fool's Gold and other classics.
The greatest reception was for This Is The One, marking the legend of former Manchester United and Northern Ireland forward Best, who died following a battle with alcohol in 2005.
A Foo Fighters set at Tennent's Vital the previous night provoked more than 100 noise complaints. The band's bass could be heard 15 miles away.
