Stormont will today host the largest Bangladeshi delegation to visit Northern Ireland with a reception expected to be attended by over 100 guests.

The visit, led by the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the UK and Ireland, His Excellency Muhammad Zulkar Nain, will highlight the development and progress of Bangladesh as one of the world's fastest growing economies.

The reception at Stormont's Long Gallery will include speeches and discussion from Bangladeshi dignitaries and government ministers.

The delegation, which includes Bangladeshi Cabinet Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury MP; former Bangladeshi Supreme Court Judge Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, and independent MP Salina Islam, was welcomed to Belfast yesterday by Lord Mayor John Finucane at the City Hall.

The main Stormont reception takes place today, sponsored by MLAs Mairtin O Muilleoir, Chris Lyttle and Mike Nesbitt.
