Sudden death of Belfast man investigated amid drugs find

An investigation is underway into the death of a young man in Belfast as two men are arrested over a related drugs find.

The man aged in his 20s was found at a property in east Belfast on Sunday.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of possession of class A and B drugs, and possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs in connection with the sudden death.

They are currently helping police with their enquiries.

Police have said forensic tests will be carried out in connection with the death.

It comes after eight unexplained deaths in Belfast and North West which may its feared may been linked to drugs.

But police have said at this stage the death is not currently being linked and they are awaiting the results of forensic tests.

Three people have been arrested in connection with a string of sudden deaths which may be drugs-related.

The victims, aged in their 20s and 30s, died suddenly within the past four weeks – seven in Belfast and one in Coleraine.
