Sunflower retains best dog pub title
The Sunflower in Belfast city centre has been declared the most dog-friendly pub in Northern Ireland.
The Dog-friendly Pub Awards run by Rover.com, the world's largest network of pet sitters and dog walkers, celebrates establishments with dog-friendly initiatives.
It encourages pubs across the UK to actively welcome four legs as well as two. The bar, on Union Street, fought off competition from more than 30 dog-friendly watering holes across Northern Ireland, but held on to top spot after receiving the most votes from the public.
Bob McManus from the Sunflower said he was delighted with the news. He added: "All our staff love dogs and try to make sure their time in the pub is comfortable."
