Superman Oscar Knox gets back on his feet
Oscar Knox has shown his determined spirit once more by walking a short but inspirational journey – dressed as Superman.
The five-year-old, who is fighting a rare form of cancer for a second time, delighted his proud parents by getting to his feet for a walk, despite his illness taking a heavy toll.
"I got back on my feet and walked 20 metres today, everyone was SO proud of me!" his family posted on Twitter.
"I never give up #TeamOscar."
The post was accompanied by a heart-warming picture of the little boy wearing a Superman costume and walking towards the camera with a smile on his face.
The Glengormley youngster was recently moved into the care of Northern Ireland's Children's Hospice after his parents revealed he was losing his fight against the cancer.
He has touched the hearts of thousands of people around the world with the determined and emotional way he has battled his illness. And now he can add global wrestling stars to his list of supporters.
As messages of support continued to flood in yesterday, there was a welcome boost when WWE and acting stars Dwayne Johnson – The Rock – and Paul Levesque – Triple H – tweeted their support.
Oscar's parents Stephen and Leona have driven a major social media campaign and have documented his journey and raised awareness around blood donation.
In a tweet, Johnson used his slogan line to write "Stay Strong Oscar" while adding the hashtag TrueSuperHero.
Triple H replied by adding: "@Wee_Oscar bravest boy in Northern Ireland STAY STRONG OSCAR."
Oscar's parents recently took the decision to move Oscar into the hospice saying that they had been "pushed to the limit of what any parent could tolerate in terms of watching their child suffer".
