Suspect arrested over mum-of-two’s murder

A man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of migrant worker in Dungannon earlier this month.

The 36-year-old man was taken to hospital at the time of the attack but has since been held by police.

Mother-of-two Luisa Cabral Pereira Silva (29), from East Timor, was stabbed to death in the Merron Mews area on August 12.

She had been living at Lisnahull Road in the town for six years and worked at the Moy Park chicken plant.

A man (36) was taken to hospital with stab wounds in a critical condition and was arrested in Craigavon on Monday.

Another man was also attacked and was taken to hospital for his injuries, which were not described as life-threatening.
