Suspect quizzed over burglaries in four counties

Detectives have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a string of burglaries and other offences across four |counties.

The man was arrested in the Portadown area shortly before midnight on Monday in relation to offences carried out in the Newry, Ballygawley, Monaghan, Omagh, Hilltown, Strabane, Loughgilly, Mayobridge and Tandragee areas. The offences include attempted burglary, burglary, car theft, threats to kill and aggravated vehicle taking. The man was last night helping police with their inquiries.

The incidents he is being questioned in connection with include burglary, threats to kill and aggravated vehicle taking in the Glenvale Crescent area of Newry last May.

They also include an attempted burglary in Ballygawley in May, a distraction burglary in Loughgilly on January 11 and the theft of a car in Newry on Sunday.
