'Taser guns' used in shop raid

Two masked men attempted to hold up a shop with taser stun guns in Northern Ireland.

A worker at the Andersonstown Road premises, in west Belfast, needed ambulance assistance after being grabbed by the leg and shoulders during the attack.

The raiders, also armed with baseball bats, fled the scene around 8pm on Friday night in an old style Audi with a large dent in the passenger side. Detectives believe the incident was linked to the robbery of a petrol station forecourt on the Upper Lisburn Road by two masked men shortly beforehand.

Separately, a masked man armed with a handgun made off with money after threatening staff at premises on the Springfield Road around 8.45pm.

Shortly afterwards a man attempted to get into two other premises on the Falls Road.
