Police are appealing for a taxi driver who picked up a man and young woman in south Belfast to contact them after a report of a serious assault.

It's believed the driver picked up the pair outside a bar or club in Bradbury Place sometime between 11pm on Saturday and 1am on Sunday.

The male passenger is described as being 6’ tall, slim build with dark hair and short dark beard.

The woman was dressed in black, aged 20 and has long dirty fair hair.

Detective Sergeant Gary Chambers said, “I appeal to any taxi drivers who were parked outside licensed premises in Bradbury Place facing country wards and think they may have picked up the couple to contact Detective at  Ladas Drive on 90700305.

"We need to speak to the driver as witness in relation to a report received regarding a serious assault.”
