Tayto launch new crisp-infused Dream Egg

Crisp manufacturers Tayto has announced it will be bringing a new 'egg-streme' product to market.

The Tayto Dream Egg will combine a cheese and onion centre with a chocolate shell, and hits the shelves on Sunday.

The company has said it has launched the product to capitalise on a spike in interest over Easter and will be launched with a price of 45p.

Penny McClucken from Tayto said: "This is the ONLY egg on the market that encapsulates the iconic flavour of everyone’s favourite cheese and onion crisps in a fondant format.

"When Tayto fans crack open the crisp chocolate shell, it will unearth the deliciously gooey cheese and onion fondant, which is perfect to enjoy as part of the snack sensation that is the Tayto Dream Egg itself or, alternatively, it is also just the right consistency for crisp dipping.

"We believe this is a first for the market and our taste panels have referred to it as the ‘new Camembert’. We’d love to hear how egg-stravagant our customers go with their crisp and dipping combinations.

"Our stand out favourite is dipping Tayto Roast Chicken into the cheese and onion fondant and it has started many a debate among our team as to which came first – the chicken or the egg."

Ms McClucken said feedback from customers had been that the Tayto Dream Egg is "unlike any other Easter egg" and that the product would be available exclusively in Northern Ireland.
