A 16-year-old boy was among three arrested after police stopped and searched a car in north Belfast.

The car was stopped on Sunday in the New Lodge Road area on Sunday evening.

A 47-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were arrested along with the teenager.

They have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A number of items were recovered in the search.

Police said on initial examination one of the items appears to be an initiation firearm but it will be subject to further examination.
