Teen critical after road collision in Derry

A teenager is in a critical condition in hospital after a car crash in Londonderry.

The vehicle went off the Victoria Road in the Newbuildings area on Saturday shortly before 6am.

Two women in their 20s, who were in the car at the time, were also taken to hospital. Their condition is described as serious.

The Victoria Road has reopened after diversions were in place for much of Saturday.

Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident involving the blue Lexus IS200, or anyone who was travelling on the Victoria Road around the time of the collision, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station.

Police at Foyle can also be contacted on 101.

The Victoria Road, Newbuildings has re-opened following the accident. No other vehicle was involved.
