A teenager has been charged in relation to a stabbing involving a pair of scissors in Co Fermanagh.

Appearing by video-link from police custody was Liam Swift (19) from Lackaboy View, Enniskillen, who is charged with unlawfully and maliciously causing grievous bodily harm to a male on January 11.

It is further alleged he was in possession of a pair of scissors as an offensive weapon, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A police officer told Enniskillen Magistrates Court both charges against the accused could be connected. Swift spoke only to confirm his identity and that he understood the charges.

It further emerged he was in breach of bail terms imposed in respect of unrelated charges.

This relates to him entering areas from which he is prohibited, which a defence solicitor advised has been accepted.

He said while Swift is anxious to be released, there is currently no suitable address. There was no application for bail.

District Judge Steven Keown revoked bail and remanded Swift in custody to appear by video-link later this month.
