Teen motorcyclist 'seriously injured' after collision with car in Derry

A 17-year-old motorcyclist is being treated for serious head injuries following a collision with a car in Londonderry.

Police at Strand Road are appealing for information about the crash in which the motorcyclist was very seriously injured.

The incident involved a motorcycle and a car happened at the Newlyn Terrace/Chapel Road junction in the Waterside at about 5pm on Thursday March 19th.

The 17-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital where he is being treated for head injuries.

Inspector Sam Shearer, the senior investigating officer, said police wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the two vehicles beforehand.

Witnesses can contact Strand Road police station on the 101 non-emergency number.
