Teen robber menaces elderly lady with knife

A 68-year-old woman is recovering after she was threatened by a teenager with a knife during a burglary at her home in north Belfast.

Police are appealing for information after the incident happened at a property in the Easton Crescent area at around 9.40pm on Monday.

The PSNI said it was reported that the woman was in the house when a teenager — thought to be around 15-17 years old — rang the door and forced his way inside.

The youth is believed to have threatened the victim with a knife, before she eventually managed to escape.

The assailant did not take anything during the incident and it is not yet clear which direction he made off in.

A police spokeswoman said the youth is thought to be approximately 5ft 7in height, of slim build, with a pale complexion and dark hair.

He is described as having dark eyes and was wearing a black hooded waterproof top with the hood pulled up.

He also wore black trousers and black shoes.
