Teenage girl killed and three others injured in Newtownards and Fermanagh crashes

A teenager has died following a crash in Newtownards.

The 18-year-old girl was the driver of a silver Peugeot that collided with a blue Audi, shortly before 8.30pm on Sunday.

The Portaferry Road was shut overnight and has now reopened.

The male driver and passenger of the Audi were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Another young woman was seriously injured when her white Renault Clio crashed in Co Fermanagh at about 8pm.

The accident happened on the Lisnaskea Road, between Lisnaskea and Derrylin.

The female driver, aged in her 20s, was taken to hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed either collision to call police on the non-emergency number, 101.

The Lisnaskea Road has now reopened to traffic.
