A 17-year-old girl has been the victim of a serious sexual assault in Co Antrim.

She was attacked by two men in a car park in the Dunluce Road area of Portrush sometime between 1.30am and 2am in the early hours of Thursday, August 28.

Police said she was 'seriously sexually assaulted' by the pair.

Her attackers then made off when another woman shouted at them.

PSNI detective inspector Adrian Brown said: "The two males made off when another female, unknown to the injured party, shouted at them.

"This female was wearing a red dress and helped her onto a bus marked 'DC Bus'. I would appeal to this female to come forward and contact me to assist with the investigation."
