A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Co Tyrone after a helicopter pursuit.

It’s after he fled from a vehicle which had been stopped by police.

Around 8pm on Tuesday night, officers in the village of Plumbridge were on patrol in the Main Street when they stopped a grey-coloured Volkswagen Passat.

Enquiries revealed the vehicle had been involved in an incident earlier that day on the Letterkenny Road in Derry.

As police were dealing with the incident, the teenager drove off resulting in a police chase.

The pursuit saw the vehicle coming to a stop on Curlyhill Road in Strabane, with officers able to locate the 19-year-old with help from the police helicopter.

He was arrested on suspicion offences including dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and having no driving licence.
