Teenager beaten with iron bars in paramilitary-style attack in Greenisland

A teenager has been beaten with iron bars in his home in a paramilitary style attack in Co Antrim.

It happened on Sunday December 21 in the Kinbayne Avenue area of Greenisland.

At 8.55pm a number of masked men entered the 19-year-old's home and assaulted him with iron bars.

The man required hospital treatment for his injuries but was later discharged.

Detective Sergeant John McKendry said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID at Newtownabbey on the non emergency number 101.

"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
