Teenager charged in Ballymena murder probe

A 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Jason Lee Martin in Ballymena, police have said.

Detectives from the PSNI’s major investigation team launched a murder investigation into the death of the 31-year-old at a house in the Orkney Drive area of Ballymena in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Detective Inspector Kerry Brennan said: “Jason died after he was stabbed whilst in a house in the early hours.

“I am appealing for anyone with information that could potentially assist the investigation to please get in touch by calling 101.

“Or alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The man is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court via videolink on Monday.
