Teenager due in court on football flare charge
A teenager has been charged with possession of a flare at a Windsor Park football match.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested after an Irish Premiership clash between Linfield and Glentoran on Saturday. He is due to appear at Belfast Youth Court on Wednesday, April 6.
"As is normal procedure, all charges are reviewed by the PPS," a spokesman for the PSNI said. A 19-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of the same offence, was released unconditionally later on Saturday. Linfield won the match against their East Belfast rivals 3-0.
Before the game, police had warned that some individuals were intending to cause trouble at the derby clash.
