Teenager killed in collision with car

A teenage boy has died after he was hit by a car in west Belfast, the PSNI has confirmed.

The 13-year-old died after the collision between a car and a bicycle on the Springfield Road on Friday.

The boy was named as Eoin Hamill from the local area by the PSNI.

A man was arrested in the wake of the incident.

Inspector David McBride said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the Springfield Road area between 4.15pm and 4.45pm and who witnessed this collision, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to get in touch as soon as possible.

“Please contact us on 101.

“A man has been arrested and is currently assisting with our enquiries.”
