Teenagers attacked by gang for phones

POLICE are investigating CCTV footage after two teenagers were attacked in separate incidents in north Belfast by a gang trying to steal mobile phones. They have appealed for information about the two incidents which occurred between 3.30pm and 4.15pm on Monday, May 10. In the first attack, a 15-year-old boy walking through the Waterworks off the Antrim Road was attacked by four teenage boys. A short time later, four youths failed in an attempt to steal a mobile from a 17-year-old girl. SUSPECTED ARSON, SOMERDALE PARK TWO cars have been damaged in a suspected arson attack in north Belfast. A black Lexus car and red Mini car, parked in the drive of a house, were set alight in the Somerdale Park area on Monday, May 11 at approximately 12.30am. Damage was also caused to windows and some of the down pipes of the house. No one was injured during the incident. POLICE are also currently investigating a number of crimes in the Newtownabbey area and are asking the public to come forward with any information. BURGLARY, GLENGORMLEY Police are investigating a burglary at business premises on the Ballyclare Road, Glengormley, sometime between 12 noon on Saturday, May1 and 8am on Tuesday, May 4. Entry gained by making a hole in the kitchen roof and the premises were ransacked. It is thought the culprits exited via the fire escape. BURGLARY, GLENGORMLEY Newtownabbey police are investigating a burglary at Ballyclare Road, Glengormley, on May 4. A window was damaged but nothing was taken. BURGLARY, DOAGH A burglary occurred at Burn Road, Doagh, and police have made an appeal for witnesses to come forward. It is thought entry was gained via the back door and various items including power and hand tools, petrol saw, tumble dryer were stolen. The incident happened between 5.30pm on April 29 and May 4.
